Spring, Summer, and Fall Gardening Workshop Series
Are you serious about growing more of your own food, using your front or back yard?
Are you ready to create your garden infrastructure including the necessary time and materials?
Are you willing to get down and get dirty, and make a long term commitment to your garden?
Are you looking for an intensive education and support via email or phone?
If you answered “Yes” to these questions, this class is for you!
Join the farmers from Living Lands for an eight-part workshop where you will learn how to grow food throughout the four seasons. Tour our farm sites while learning practical ways of growing food on a home-scale. Each workshop will end with a farm-fresh lunch prepared by In the Kitchen.

April – Bed preparation, irrigation, planting, composting
Mary - Planting out the garden, direct seed and transplant, succession planting, growing conditions, tour of another farm site
June - Mulching, weeding, HARVESTING, planting succession crops; all about poultry in the garden
July - Fall and winter garden, crop rotation, seed planting for fall
August – Composting, farm field trip, seeding of onions
September – Seed saving, harvesting summer crops, drying, food preservation, cover cropping, mulching and on-bed composting.

Great class – highly recommended and well taught! I learned a lot of things I didn’t know, even though I have been growing for years. I would do it again. Thanks!
Interested in your workshops and visiting the farm.
Please e-mail me with prices.
Hey Debora -
For the entire workshop series we offer a sliding scale payment option of between $300.00 and $500.00 per person. If you’re interested in signing up for individual classes, the cost is $40 per session. If you prefer the individual class option please let me know if you would like to attend a few days before the actual class, that way can plan accordingly for lunch preparation etc.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Tim
Four classes left. Is it too late to start or should I wait for next year? I know little about gardening despite having a small one, 6 rows. I live on 2.2 acres of which 5000 sf is a back lawn that is totally wasted. Well, not totally wasted….the clippings get composted!
Hey John -
This is actually a pretty good time to join in because we’re just entering the time when we begin planning and planting for our “fall and winter” gardens. If you’re interested please email me at tim_van_wagner@hotmail.com and let me know. You’re more than welcome to come to the workhsop this Saturday 9am until 1pm at our farm site just outside of Nevada City on Wet Hill Rd. Let me know! Thanks!
