Internships
An exciting opportunity for those who aspire to nurture the land through sustainable farming techniques!
The 8-month internship program with Living Lands offers aspiring farmers an opportunity to learn ecological farming within a unique, community-based model of food production. Interns will be involved with a wide spectrum of ecological farming techniques from seed to seed, and will gain experience with various business models, including CSA, farmers market and value added-products.
Interns will participate in farm work and education Wednesdays – Saturdays, and will benefit from a rotating work schedule that places them on a different sites with a different farmer each day of the week. Saturdays are split up between harvest and farmers market. In addition to the regular work week, one afternoon per week will be set aside for more formal education and farming-related field trips. Interns will also be involved in community events and event planning, including summer celebrations, fundraiser events, and limited school-programming. The rest of the week is open, with interns free to pursue their own on or off-farm interests.
For those interns who wish to continue mentorship with Living Lands Agrarian Network, a second year Journeyman program is available for those who want to take on more responsibility as a farmer and oversee their own farming projects. Contact us for more details.
The internship program includes room, board, and a $200.00 monthly stipend.
