Living Lands Agrarian Network is a non-profit organization that offers training and mentorship to the next generation of farmers.  Our unique model of cooperative farming integrates ecological education, community involvement, resource sharing, and celebration around the food we grow right here in our neighborhoods.  We practice and promote localized ecological farming for the profound benefit it has on ourselves, our neighbors and the planet.

We can’t do this work alone – we need your help.  One way you can directly support our work in Nevada county is by becoming a member of the Living Lands Agrarian Network.  In gratitude for your membership and support, we can offer you the following perks at four different membership levels:

Lacewing Member at $45

This $60 value includes:

  • Free admission to LLAN Farm Tour on July 11. Join us for a tour of three local farm sites in the Living Lands network.  Meet the farmers, enjoy farm fresh appetizers at each site, and see farm demonstrations like a horse-drawn plow, goat-milking, and more. After the tours, there will be a picnic celebration back at Pioneer Park with live music, games, and more.  As a member, you will receive free farm-fresh ice cream from Treats and will be entered in a raffle to earn fabulous prizes, like a home garden consultation with one of the LLAN farmers!

  • End-of-Season LLAN Member Appreciation Dinner. You and other LLAN members will be our honored guests at this end-of-season celebration. We will eat hearty soups from the farm and celebrate our accomplishments for the season.
  • Receive LLAN email updates on timely home gardening tips. Do you ever look at your home garden and wonder “What Would Living Lands Do?”   Members will receive email updates on what the LLAN crew is doing on the farm, and offer some tips for your home vegetable garden.

My husband Ken, our daughter Kate, and I (plus 2 grandchildren) attended the LLAN Farm Tour yesterday (July 11). We drove up from Danville for the event and were so happy we did – it was wonderful – though we were unable to enjoy the activities at the park at the end of the tour due to tired children (who slept all the way home). When we registered for the tour–Ken paid $75 in cash–we were told that a membership would cost an additional $15, which we did not pay. I see on your website, however, that our $75 tour fee really should/could have included a family membership ($65). I’m wondering if there is any way you could honor our tour payment and include a membership for us. Even though we do not reside in Nevada County, we are very interested in your program and would love the opportunity to become involved in some way. Thanks for condidering this request. Best regards, Sara Noble

      Hi Sarah,
Wow! You and your family came out from Danville! Thanks so much for joining us!
Yes, of course we can correct that error. I apologize for that miscommunication – not all of our volunteer staff were fully trained before the crowds came Sunday morning! Please email livinglandscashier@gmail(dot)com with your mailing address and I will send you your Family Membership information. If you and your family are ever in the neighborhood mid-week, please come by to one of our Thursday evening potlucks at Blue Bird Farm!
      In gratitude,
      Rachel
