Living Lands Board of Directors
Leo Chapman
Leo is our senior farmer and co-creator of Living Lands. He brings his experience as an independent business owner, commercial contractor, mentor and educator. Leo is a central force behind Living Lands, donating hundreds of hours each year to help build farm infrastructure, mentor new farmers, and build community partnerships.
Maise Ganz
Maisie is co-owner of Soil Sisters, a women’s farming collaborative. She is a co-creator of Living Lands and brings her expertise in communication skills and conflict resolution to the organization.
Tim Van Wagner
Tim is owner of First Rain Farm, and one of the co-creators of Living Lands. He received a self-designed degree in Environment, Society, and Design at Pitzer College, of the Claremont Consortium. Tim serves as the President of the Board.
Willow Hein
Willow, born and raised in Nevada City, is co-owner of Soil Sisters, a women’s farming collaborative. She is a graduate of the UC Santa Cruz Farming Apprenticeship Program, and serves as the Treasurer for Living Lands.
Executive Director
Rachel Berry, MA
Rachel brings more than ten years of experience in program and non-profit management. Her areas of focus include health, wellness and the environment. She holds a Master of Arts in Health Psychology with an emphasis in Public Health. She most recently came from The Regenerative Design Institute, a sustainable living educational center in Bolinas, where she worked closely with Penny Livingston and James Stark in the development of this non-profit educational center.
